MORTGAGER / FAQ

New country. Familiar questions.

Can I get a mortgage as an expat?

It may be possible. Lenders assess income, debts, residence status and the property. We review your individual circumstances before discussing suitable options.

Do I need a permanent employment contract?

Not always. A temporary contract may be accepted with the right evidence. Self-employed income needs a different assessment. The requirements vary by lender.

How much can I borrow?

That depends on income, financial obligations, interest rates, the property and lender criteria. A personal assessment is more useful than a simple salary multiplier.

What is NHG?

Nationale Hypotheek Garantie is the Dutch mortgage guarantee scheme. It can offer a safety net in certain circumstances. Eligibility, property limits, fees and residence requirements apply; we check the current rules for your case.

Can we meet online?

Yes. You can arrange a video meeting or visit our office in Almere. Tell us your preferred language when you contact us so we can confirm what is available.

Is the first meeting free?

Yes, the introductory meeting is free and without obligation. Any further advice and arrangement fees are discussed before you engage us.

Which documents should I prepare?

Typically, identification, residence documentation where relevant, income evidence, details of debts and savings, and later the property documents. We give you a tailored checklist and a secure way to share sensitive files.
